Paul Brand grew up in the Koli Malai hills in India and was determined never to leave, never to wear shoes and never to be a doctor like his father – especially to lepers.
However, years passed and after school in England when he had to wear shoes from dawn to dusk Paul eventually started a career in medicine and discovered that the God he trusted had the best plan for his life.
The young medical doctor returned to India to help leprosy patients and even designed special shoes for them to wear! His treatment of the leprosy patients become influential throughout the world. Paul’s faith in God, his love for mankind and his medical abilities gave those who suffered from leprosy a new life – and hope.
